Creature Designs
This first piece (actually two pieces) is from Heroes Con 2009. It was fathers day and I was missing my kids.
The River Rat is a demon from BARG! It feeds on the death found in rivers during times of war. This nasty bugger is small at about 30 feet from snout to the back of its bulb.

Taurus is one of the avatars of a great Archon. The rulers of the Zodiac who keep the light of the Goddess imprisoned on the physical plane.

Crucible is a big bruiser in his own right but he also has the ability to create powerful weapons to use against the BARG!
Biter can swim through the ground as if it was water.
Look for all of these designs to be featured in Big Ass Robot Gods!

Galactus commission for the Dan Frazier collection

Comic convention regulars won't be surprised by the image of Dan Frazier walking about with boundless energy and a huge portfolio of oversized artwork from a who's who of artists in the the comic book industry. Dan lives with cerebral palsy but it doesn't hold him back from making a huge impression on everyone who meets him. He wants to use his huge collection of original art to help comic creators that have fallen on hard times. I recently had the honor of contributing to his collection. I did a piece of the world devourer Galactus and the look of excitement on Dan's face was priceless. It was especially rewarding to me because my work joins that of the Buscemas, Romitas, George Perez and just about anyone else you could think of. I look forward to adding more pieces to his collection!
See you in Baltimore Dan!

The Badmonkeybrain Collective!

Here we are at dinner. From left to right:
-The social butterfly with a stinger of the group this guy is a convention rock star! I give you Brian Maze of Freak Central fame.
-The hot chocolate one that has brought sexy back to comics yours truly Iszy Iszard, creator of Big Ass Robot Gods.
-The intern with the big smile who can melt the hearts of comic book nerds with a "hello" Mariah Arant AKA "Intern Mariah".
-The big guy with a heart of gold has done almost too much to mention I call him "Hollywood" but you may know him as Jerry Carr, the magic behind the wildly popular CryptoZoo Crew and the future title "Tiki Monkey Girl".
-And last but certainly not least, a guy that can kick box all night and put a custom crafted cake in a box in the morning, the super talented Rand Arrington, creator of ChipMonks.
There you have it folks. The BADMONKEYBRAIN Collective!

Chilling out in the heat with Scott Adsit of 30 Rock fame at the Heroes Con after party at Heroes Aren't Hard to Find in Charlotte NC!
Scott Adsit plays Peter Hornberger on 30 Rock. He's a genuinely cool
dude! Shelton Drum and the folks at Heroes Aren't Hard to find put on
the most creator friendly convention I've ever done! The after party
was pretty cool too. Who would have thought that beer and comics would
go so well together?

My buddy and fellow Badmonkeybrainer Jerry Carr and I got to share
some cool memories with the great Joe Jusko. It's always nice to
share your experiences with other creators that have influenced your
work over the years. Joe was great to talk to and we are looking
forward to hooking up with him at the Baltimore Con this fall.
The convention was great and it was the ideal maiden voyage of the
Badmonkeybrain collective. Hope to see you all there next year! On
to Baltimore!

Early Sophia Pistis prototype
This version was a little too drugged out for Sophia but there is
something I like about it. Nothing goes to
waste in the Iszyverse! Pencil and ink on Bainbridge board.

Sophia has gone through many changes. This is what I've settled on.

Iszard.com Update Coming Soon!
I've been burning the midnight oil to get my portfolio site updated. I'm working on a complete re-work that will make it much easier to update in the future. I've learned lots about CSS and the spry framework in the process. Within the week, the new site should be up!
The BARG! site will be next! Once I get these updates out of the way I can get back to drawing!
